THE CAMELIA BOTNAR FACILITIES
Workshops and Work Environments
The Foundation has fully equipped workshops and work environments for each department as appropriate, with all of the necessary tools, gear and materials for you to pursue your learning and your trade. Our setting is a large country estate with numerous properties and lots of land to get genuine experience on. We provide all of the tools, personal protective equipment and materials that you will need to develop your skills.
Living accommodation is initially provided in the Main House on the estate which has 15 large single bedrooms. Each of you is given your own key to your room. Breakfast and evening meals are taken in the Main House dining room. Breakfast is usually around 7:30am and the evening meal around 5:15pm.
In due course, you will move on to the Coach House, which is a short walk from the Main House. The Coach House has 16 single bedrooms, a TV room and separate laundry facilities. There are facilities for making hot drinks and light refreshments, but while you’re in the Coach House you’ll still eat your breakfast and evening meals in the Main House dining room.
When individuals are considered to be capable and ready, more independent accommodation is provided in a number of flats on the estate. In this top tier of accommodation, you can take more responsibility for yourself, manage a small food budget that we provide and experience catering for yourself. Weekly trips are made to a large supermarket to buy provisions, and to local general stores for small shopping items.
Over the weekends you will organise your own time and activities, returning home or visiting friends. To come to the Foundation, you will need to provide an address of residence as a necessary part of gaining a placement. This is necessary to show it has been agreed that you have somewhere to go if you are sick, for holidays, and for weekends. We are unable to accommodate you over the weekend, so it is absolutely necessary that you have a residence to return to on Friday evening and for the weekend.
The Foundation has superb grounds with sporting and recreational facilities located in and around the Main House complex.
The Main House has a sports hall, games room, gym, and two other communal rooms with TVs, as well as various other spaces that can be used for different activities. Activities include table tennis, snooker and pool tables, weightlifting, indoor football in the sports hall, basketball, badminton, an outdoor football pitch and tennis courts.
We also have regular organised activities on site during the evenings. These vary, but examples are: yoga, keep fit, boxercise and graffiti workshops.
We organise regular trips out too. Again these vary, but examples are: cinema, go-karting, swimming, bowling, rock climbing and much more.
There is always plenty to keep you occupied in the evenings if you want to put your name down for an activity.
